FAQs

What kind of therapy services do you offer?

Currently, I’m only taking new referrals for in-person sessions. I see adults individually and partners and families in conjoint therapy. Please note that I typically don’t see individual clients under the age of 16.

Where is your office?

I’m located at 80 Eureka Dr, Pacifica. It’s an office building in the Eureka Square Shopping Center (the same shopping center as Oceana Market). It’s less than a 10 minute walk to the paved walking area and beach access by Pacifica Pier.

What are your session fees?

I charge $165 per session. I also offer 90 minute sessions for deep trauma or longer oceanside work upon request for $250.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I have a limited number of low-fee spots in my practice. Please reach out to me directly to discuss and request a sliding scale fee structure.

Can you take my insurance?

I don't accept insurance, but I work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. You can sign up using this link.

Note: Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim. As your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.

Can therapy really help me?

Some of my most beloved clients were residents of a treatment facility for adolescents. One of them hated therapy with me so much that they were moved to deface a wooden sign on the roof with the catchy slogan “Kate is a b****.” And even they got something out of it in the end! Nothing is guaranteed, but you’re unlikely to despise it as much as they did.
