My therapy approach

Green plants
  • You won’t just talk. You’ll learn and practice new skills in real time. If the body calls for it, we may do some running, jumping, hiding, dancing, punching, and more.

Kite in the sky
  • I will always ensure that we process your experiences within your comfort zone. With patience and trust, we can work together to release painful memories from your brain and body and leave those experiences in the past, where they belong.

  • No judgment here. I welcome the full spectrum of your emotions, and I don't pretend to be totally neutral or avoid sharing my real thoughts with you! I always appreciate hearing when I'm getting it wrong, too– because we'll be that much closer to finding out what you really need.

About me

Welcome! I'm Kate, your guide on the path to living beyond your darkest hours.

In my practice, I concentrate on the physical experience of your emotions and memories, giving you a completely personalized space to process your past and experience new sensations of peace and healing. My style is warm, creative, and practical, and I don't pretend to be a neutral therapy robot. I always bring my genuine observations and reactions to therapy (with a dash of humor too).

In addition to more traditional methods, I offer ocean-side eco therapy. It’s a quick walk from my office in Pacifica down to the shore, where we can integrate the calming influence of the sea into your therapy sessions. My primary treatment focuses are anxiety and trauma, but I work with a range of issues and I'm a big believer in working with partners and families as well as individuals.

If you're grappling with overwhelming emotions, navigating a tough life transition, or carrying the weight of the past, I'm here to join you on your path to a more balanced life.
